OUR STRATEGY

The DR is committed to embedding sustainability within every aspect of our work. From innovation in our core business of making programs through to targets aimed at reducing the environmental impact of our operations, we are determined to make the DR a more sustainable organization.

Our strategy is called The Difference and focuses on five areas:

 

  1. Get the basics rights the first time– reducing the impacts of the infrastructure we provide and operate, for example by investing in energy efficiency for our buildings?
  1. Improve how we work – addressing our own behavior, for example by reducing travel through video conference use and using pull printing.
  1. Work with our suppliers – improving the sustainability of products and services we procure.
  1. Lead the industry – embedding sustainability in the TV production process and working closely with partners in the broadcast industry.
  1. Engage our staff – encouraging and enabling sustainable behavior by DR staff across the organization.

The DR‘s strategy also includes setting ourselves stretching targets, aimed at reducing our environmental impacts through the consumption of energy and water, generation of waste and transport emissions.
